To talk about the opportunities you’ll have if you pursue cosmetic surgery in Mexico, we decided to interview several Mexican surgeons who are experts in their field of specialty.

Dr. Enrique Sánchez Perez Verdia, a resident of Guadalajara, and one of the most innovative plastic surgeons in Mexico, was kind enough to give us his thoughts on this subject.

As mentioned earlier, cosmetic surgery in Mexico is recognized around the world. The only country to rival Mexico in the level of training and professionalism of its plastic surgeons is Brazil. In other words, outside of the United States and Western Europe, Mexican plastic surgeons are a great choice and charge very competitive fees.

When asked about the competitive edge the city of Guadalajara offers in the cosmetic surgery market within Mexico, Dr. Sánchez gave us his list of advantages when compared to Monterrey and Mexico City:

Surgeons in Guadalajara charge lower fees than their colleagues in Monterrey and Mexico City.

Guadalajara has excellent hospitals with everything necessary to cover the patient’s needs. They are also more affordable than those in the other two cities.

Guadalajara is headquarters of the Reconstructive Surgery Institute of Jalisco, the only place of its kind and home to the best Mexican plastic surgeons.

The ultimate aim of bringing you this type of practical information is to help you make decisions, save money, safeguard your physical well-being and, at the same time, help protect the reputation of Mexico and the professionals that work in this country.

Having said that, I feel obliged to make the following personal comment:

Because an extensive hospital infrastructure is not considered “necessary” to perform cosmetic surgery, it’s easy for impostors to proliferate and offer their services without having the academic background necessary nor the years of experience required to yield quality results.

So, if you’re considering undergoing cosmetic surgery in Mexico, or in any other country, it will benefit you to take this extra risk into account and be very careful when choosing a plastic surgeon.

Part of the work we do at this company is to carry out an investigation of the medical tourism market on the Internet. We have found many web pages out there promoting low-cost “packages” in small clinics, generally at beach resort areas, but they don’t make it clear what kind of support they have for being able to carry out this kind of cosmetic surgery in Mexico.

Our recommendation is simple: select certified Mexican plastic surgeons that are recognized by top-level Mexican hospitals, so that you can protect both your integrity and your investment.

Just imagine how difficult it would be to end up with unsatisfactory results and not realize until you have a problem that the surgeon wasn’t adequately trained and didn’t even have a specialty in the field of cosmetic surgery.

And though it may sound like we’re being too insistent, it’s better to say these things now, to help you avoid serious problems in the future.
